Hastings RX Morris (formerly known as Mad Jacks Morris) About Mad Jack's Morris Mad Jack's Morris, based in Hastings, East Sussex since 1976, have a women's and men's side and dance in the Cotswold Style. We are named after John 'Mad Jack' Fuller, one-time squire of the nearby village of Brightling who, was regarded in his lifetime, as bit of a character: he built many follies, one of which is the "Sugar Loaf", shown on our badge. He also saved Bodiam Castle from demolition; financed the building of the Belle Tout Lighthouse atop Beachy Head; instituted the first Eastbourne lifeboat; and supported Brightling's church, bells, and organ, amongst other things. From Folk Weekend: Oxford Web Page Since its inception in 2012 Folk Weekend: Oxford has established itself in Oxfordshire as one of the best folk events around. Musicians, bands, dancers and folk enthusiasts come from near and far to experience “one of the county’s best weekends of music” Working with our partners in Oxford, and with venues and organisations around the city, we have a fabulous weekend of music and dance for you. Whether you enjoy a concert, a ceilidh, a workshop or a bit of Morris dancing there should be something for you. Just click on the event and you will be directed to where you can purchase a ticket for each event. There are plenty of free events around for you. All our local showcase stages are in the city centre and there for you just to come along, enjoy the music and meet the musicians. We have a wealth of talent in Oxfordshire and our surrounding counties and love that so many musicians come and take part each year.
