Sorry for any confusion :( We previously took a look into Beta M0127 for the Hisense U8G and U88G in a previous video; however, I did not give it rave reviews due to the loss of functionality with VRR on the RTX 3000 lineup of graphics cards, and the Xbox Series X. After reporting my findings to the R&D Team, as well as other Beta Testers of various online forums, I was urged to continue to troubleshoot. After an evening of trial and error with Local Dimming not being functional while calibrating my panel for my Apple TV 4K, I decided to power cycle my entire entertainment center... My Hisense U88G, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, Apple TV 4K, Denon S760h... Everything. Well, after that, the magic started to happen. I can only chalk this up as a potential handoff issue with the Denon receiver possibly locking in place the Freesync or ALLM settings from the consoles that were still running in the background on an unused input, as after my power cycle everything changed for the better. Not only was Local Dimming now working for my Apple TV 4K, but so was VRR on my Xbox Series X! Not only that, but by utilizing base HDMI 2.1 VRR from the Series X over Freesync, I have also retained Local Dimming in 4K/120Hz with ALLM for my input settings. This is a huge win for the Hisense lineup of U8G/U88G and possibly the U7G/U78G lineup of TVs as well. Now my picture is bright, fast, and refreshes with my console's output for one of the best gaming-oriented TVs of 2021/2022 (In its pricing category). Oh, and as tested in my previous video, 4K/120Hz is also properly outputting FULL 3840 x 2160, meaning no longer does it suffer from reduced visual quality and/or soft vertical lines that made text and graphics appear soft and blurry.
