This video is the third of a three-part series on Attention Training. In Part III, the therapist explains the rationale for mindfulness meditation and guides the client in an in-session practice. 'Unhelpful attention (attentional bias)' is one of the maintaining factors for worry and rumination. Thus, knowing how to catch when our attention wanders and guide it back to the present moment is an important skill to practise. We encourage you to watch the videos on 'Explaining the Vicious Cycle of Worry' ( • Explaining the Vicious Cycle of Worry (Cli... ) and 'Explaining Worry Postponement' ( • Explaining Worry Postponement (CBT Clinica... ) for more information on how attention training fits into this metacognitive therapy-informed approach. Handouts and worksheets on managing worry and rumination, including the “What? Me Worry!?!” workbook, are freely available here: https://www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/Reso... _________________________________________________________________ The CCI CBT Clinical Demonstration video series aims to demonstrate the use of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) strategies, and it is designed for use by mental health professionals interested in using CBT to treat problems such as depression and anxiety.
