Everyone knows that Canada has two official languages - English and French. But, did you know that the Northwest Territories has eleven official languages!? They are Chipewyan, Cree, English, French, Gwich’in, Inuinnaqtun, Inuktitut, Inuvialuktun, North Slavey, South Slavey, Tlicho. Many of these languages have been an integral part of the landscapes, the culture, and the peoples of this land for millenia, and continue to be! This law might not make it so that everything is translated eleven times - but it does do so much to protect, and to work to grow the usage of these languages into the future! P.S. Thank you all so much for sticking around! I've recently moved - so we're figuring out how to build the right set up in the new space, and we will be getting back to making new videos real soon. I'm so appreciative of all the encouragement, support, and great ideas that we've received through this project so far - and can't wait to be back! - G
