Riding along the highway in Decatur, Mississippi, I was looking around, as I always do, and lo and behold, there’s an abandoned Peavey manufacturing plant. Closed down 8 years ago in 2010, apparently no buyer could be found for the building. So Peavey donated the $3M facility to the Newton County School system. Which I noticed was just next door when I left. Everything, for the most part, has been cleaned out. Most interesting to me was all of the training material left in the offices upstairs. Oh, & the bulletins in the break room from 2006, and there were two pay phones as well. No change in the slots...I checked. There was talk of the Meridian plant closing, but I am unsure whether it has or not.
