Christ completed the work on the cross. He alone won the power over sin, hell and the grave and because of his ultimate victory on Calvary, we are victorious in our everyday lives. We are not victims. We are co-heirs and co-victors with him. Jesus Christ is the only way home to the Father. His Spirit leads us in all righteousness as we become more and more like him. His way is narrow, and it demands everything, but he promises to be with us and to empower us along the way. Together, we return home again and again. It's the second day of my period, otherwise known as menstruation (the first phase of a woman's monthly menstrual cycle). During menstruation, a woman experiences vaginal bleeding as a result of shedding her uterine lining. The uterine lining is made up of blood and tissue from the uterus. Women can lose 2 to 3 tablespoons of blood during their period and on average, we bleed 3 to 7 days out of the month. Women can experience the following and more in this phase: Cramping Nausea Mood swings Bloating Sore breasts Diarrhea Headaches Irritability Food cravings Fatigue Pelvic pain Acne While we are shedding blood, we remember the blood of Christ that was shed for our sins. We lean all the more into his mercy and grace, knowing he is faithful to give us rest and power. ____ Menó (Greek): to abide, dwell, reside, remain, sojourn, tarry, endure; month (menstruation, menopause) Menótra is a space for women & girls experiencing hormonal changes to be in and with Jesus — the ultimate paradise, refuge and light. Hormonal changes sometimes weaken our bodies and deregulate our mood, leaving us feeling irritable, fatigued and/or increasingly critical of ourselves, others and God; but we gather to Jesus at Menótra to reverence the redemptive work of Christ’s crucified and resurrected body, and to reconnect with the female body He created and called good. We invite the female body into: 1. Refuge, 2. Rest, 3. Revelation, 4. Reverence, and 5. Revival, Through engagement of its primary function: worship of our Lord and Maker, Jesus Christ.
