On August 14, 2022, a young couple, 22 year old Adam Simjee and 20 year old Mikayla Paulus, were on a spontaneous trip to Alabama’s Cheaha State Park early Sunday morning before tragedy struck and changed their lives forever. While driving through Talladega National Forest on their way to the State Park, the young couple stopped to help two women, Yasmine Hider and Krystal Pinkins, who claimed they were having car trouble. It turned out to be a trap. They were held at gunpoint as the two women attempted to rob the couple. What they didn’t know was that Adam was also armed. A gunfight ensued, ending in Adam’s tragic death, but not before he saved the life of his girlfriend. He died a hero. Here is the link to his GOFUNDME page. The tragic story is still developing.
