Please watch in HD! An intentionally silly video in honor of the 25th anniversary of The Silence of the Lambs' theatrical release, which fell in Valentine's Day of 1991 because director Jonathan Demme thought it would make a good date movie. (Perhaps the release date also relates to the book's Valentine's Day references, though they sadly got cut from the film script.) Stylistically, tonally, this song does not (and is not meant to!) work for Hannibal and Clarice's relationship, but lyrically I thought it worked well enough, and I wanted it to be tongue-in-cheek and fun. So happy anniversary, Silence, and remember folks: Hannibal gave Clarice a severed head for Valentine's Day so she would come back and talk to him again. If that's not true love, what is, right? ;) Enjoy!
