I always thought the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia (السعودية) was just endless desert... but I was completely wrong. In this solo adventure, I set out to explore what few travelers ever see—starting with camping at Uqair Beach, where I met a group of incredible Saudi Jeepers who invited me on a wild off-road journey to Yellow Lake — a massive, hidden lake in the middle of the desert. The drive was challenging, but the views? Absolutely unforgettable. After saying goodbye, I headed alone to the mysterious Judah Thumb, a towering rock formation. I camped solo in this eerie landscape—and when I found a cave with inscriptions behind my tent in the middle of the night, fear kicked in like never before. The next morning, soft desert rain woke me up. I continued to Al Qarah Hill in Al Hofuf, a natural rock formation that’s been used as shelter for centuries. The air inside is much cooler—a welcome relief from the desert heat. But the most emotional moment of this journey happened there, when a kind Saudi stranger gave me a gift that brought me to tears. 💔🎁 Watch till the end to see what it was, and why this journey changed how I see Saudi Arabia forever.
