Ivanhoe Lake to Wakami Lake Provincial Park - 2021 Northern Ontario Camping Escape - Ep 13

Day 12 of our 2021 Northern Ontario Camping Escape series was another travel day. After prepping the trailer we spent half an hour canoeing Saw Lake again and then had lunch before heading to the small town of Chapleau. In Chapleau, we got gas, picked up some groceries and then stopped at a local garage (Chapleau Automotive Repair) to have our Andersen Hitch adjusted and tightened. Wakami Lake Provincial Park was about 45 minutes south of Chapleau and it was about an 8-kilometre drive into the park. After we set up the trailer, we had dinner and then went for a walk from our site. There were Compton Tortoiseshell butterflies everywhere. We walked to the park office which had wifi access and scenic views of the bay and lake. We went for a quick, chilly dip in the lake, met with a nice couple from Sudbury and relaxed for the rest of the evening.
