Recorded using a mobile studio situated at Anderson's country home in Seer Green, Buckinghamshire, "Olias of Sunhillow" is a masterpiece of progressive rock, psychedelic folk, experimental electronics, and world music. Anderson played every instrument on the album, including keyboards, guitars, and percussion, and served as the sole producer. The album features such standout tracks as "Flight of the Moorglade," "Solid Space," and "To the Runner," with lush arrangements, soaring vocals, and intricate instrumentation. "Ocean Song," a fan favorite, was performed live during Yes's 1976 North American tour. "Olias of Sunhillow" peaked at number eight on the UK Album Charts and number forty-seven on the US Billboard 200, making it the highest-charting of the solo albums released by the members of Yes at the time.
