RAISING LIONS - The Bodnant Lioness Origin Story

From a handful of girls playing tag rugby to the monumental rise of an undefeated girls junior rugby team. The Bodnant Lionesses have been inspired, trained and nurtured by their teacher and coach, Mr. Rob Batterbee. An end of year match was organised with what the girls believed was a team from Munster Ireland. Unbeknownst to the Lionesses, their mothers had also been trained by Coach Batterbee and members of the Rhyl & District Women's RFC team. Ready for battle, the Lionesses and team 'Mumster' clashed on the field at Bodnant Community School. Undefeated, the Lioness passion for Rugby shone through, but along with it grew a deeper respect for their mothers, each other, and their journey though school at Bodnant.
