What is the Biblical View of Social Justice?

Perhaps the most significant issue in the last 30 years for the Protestant Church is the place of social justice in the Christian Worldview. Is "social justice" a demand of the Gospel? Is it close to the Gospel itself? Just what exactly are the biblical parameters for understanding justice? Do more modern understandings of socialism resemble early/biblical Christianity? As the debate rages over just how "woke" Christians should be in the name of Jesus, or whether or not this paradigm is in fact poison to the Gospel itself, might a moderated conversation between two thoughtful Christians be of help? Doug Pagitt, pastor, author and thinker at the forefront of considering social justice as a Christian Enterprise, will be in dialogue with Dr. Joel McDurmon, a theonomist whose understanding of Old Testament biblical law has great bearing on this question.
