As we end our two-month journey through Cambodia, we remember our best moments from our travels . In the final episode of our Finding the Real Cambodia series, we take you through the Top 10 Things we learnt from Cambodia travel, as well as shed light into the best places to visit in Cambodia in 2024. We also reminisce about Khmer cuisine and our wonderful memories of tasting Cambodia street food in Phnom Penh, as well as cooking Khmer food with a Cambodian family in Battambang, Cambodia. Cambodia street food is yummy and diverse at the same time. Cambodian history is long and multilayered: from the glorious Khmer empire to the brutal Khmer Rouge, there is a lot to learn. Once you understand the history and delve deeper into Khmer culture and traditions, you will see why Cambodia is so authentic. The Khmer nation has some very unique experiences on offer, whether it is riding a bamboo train or watching a million bats come out of the Bat Caves, there’s a lot to see. Make sure you explore the smaller coastal towns in Cambodia as well during your travels: towns such as Kampot or Kep. They aren’t as touristy as the more famous Siem Reap, but have a lot to offer. We also give you tips on how to best spend your time at Angkor and explore various options that you can choose. Angkor is more than just Angkor Wat.
