A dark dockside shanty born from blood, gold, and buried history. “The Pressed Man’s Gold” is a haunting pirate-style song inspired by a true Liverpool legend. Beneath the Baltic Fleet pub, smugglers’ tunnels once hid stolen treasure linked to the infamous Guinea Gap hoard. During the May Blitz of 1941, bombs exposed those tunnels… and a skeleton still clutching gold coins. Those coins were later matched to the Guinea Gap treasure. This song tells the story of the sailor who carried that gold. Murdered by a press gang. Sealed behind brick. And doomed to walk the tunnels forever. With a slow, ominous shanty rhythm and ghostly dockside imagery, this track is meant to sound like something sung by sailors who know they’re already cursed. Some men sail. Some men stay. Listen with headphones. Best after dark. 🎶 Written & performed for the Mr Strange channel ⚓ Inspired by Liverpool dockland folklore, wartime history, and true treasure finds ⸻ HASHTAGS #DarkShanty #PirateSong #HauntedFolk #GhostSong #LiverpoolHistory #TrueGhostStories #MaritimeFolklore #CreepyMusic #SeaShanty #MrStrange #fyp #urbanlegends #hauntedliverpool #scarystories #mrstrange #fypシ #horrornarration #liverpool #liverpoolhistory #ad #creepystories #goonies #gooniesneversaydie #fypシ
