The Plantation Giant of South India With a rich legacy spanning over 150 years, Harrisons Malayalam is one of the largest plantation companies in South India. The company cultivates crops on approximately 14,000 to 26,000 hectares of land and primarily produces rubber, tea, and pineapple. In 1984, it merged with other Indian interests of Harrisons & Crosfield to form Harrisons Malayalam. In 1988, the RPG Group acquired the company, marking the beginning of a significant period of expansion. Harrisons Malayalam operates 13 tea estates and 11 rubber estates, with factories in Surianelli (tea), Kumbazha (rubber), and Achur. It provides direct employment to around 13,000 people in the rural regions of Kerala and supports the livelihood of over 100,000 individuals. In 2021, the company ranked 6th in the "Great Place to Work – India" list and 16th in the "Great Places to Work – Asia" ranking.
