We are beginning with the lowercase letters because a child will encounter the lowercase letters much more frequently than the uppercase letters when reading books. You can easily teach a child to read using explicit phonics instruction. I have another video that includes both capital and lowercase letters if you are ready to learn the capitals too. This video is full of different colors! I recently started teaching my sixteen-month-old the letter sounds. It can be difficult to get her to pay attention to flashcards, but she really enjoys watching the different videos I have made.
