(1 Nov 1995) English/Nat Leaders from the former Yugoslavia have arrived at an US Air Force base in Ohio for the next round of Bosnian peace talks. Arriving to a red-carpet welcome, Serbia's president predicted the U-S-brokered negotiations would succeed in ending four years of warfare in the former Yugoslavia. The Bosnian prime minister also appeared upbeat, saying he expected to find justice and democracy for Bosnia. The man considered pivotal in the peacemaking efforts arrived at the Wright-Patterson Air Force base near Dayton by JAT Yugoslav Airlines Jet. Serb President Slobodan Milosevic is thought by American officials to be capable of arm-twisting Bosnian Serbs to accept a peace treaty. As he arrived to a red-carpet welcome, the president expressed his believe that the talks would be successful. SOUNDBITE: "Well, I'm an optimist. I believe the talks will succeed. We attach a great importance to the peace initiative of the United States. And we are here to join the efforts to bring peace to the Balkans. I hope that we will succeed." And I hope that in the future, the history books will have Dayton for justice and America for democracy."
