During this episode of cabin in the woods, I share our method for framing in the porch valley. This includes installing valley jack rafters and sheathing. Clearly by now, you guys are learning how much I lean on math for my framing. This stage of the build is no different. Installing jack rafters and sheathing are both made easier if you apply some math to the process. I also share how we frame our overhangs, which is fairly atypical for us. It isn't the way I prefer to do it, but in this instance it works well. As you can see, I am still loving the Makita 36v 9 1/4" track saw. It's definitely earned a spot in our trailer. In this episode we also cut in high temp ice and water into our valley for added protection and install most of our synthetic felt on the new porch roof.
