This piece is influenced heavily by Brahms' Intermezzi, and written in memory of Clara Schumann, for whom Brahms had a lifelong love. It may be an apocryphal story, because I can't remember where I read it, but I believe that the 2nd movement of Brahms' 1st Piano Concerto had a handwritten quotation at its head stating "Blessed is he who cometh in the name of the Lord," and referring to Clara. This piece was recorded on PianoTeq8's Kawaii Shigeru grand piano and mastered in Logic Pro. BTW, any folks from Logic Pro out there, would you please fix the absurd brickwall limiter you have incorporated into your mastering assistant? It is the least transparent limiter of all time, and turns every note into the blow of a hammer. Just sayin'. Logic makes it very difficult to get gentle sounds out of anything you put into it.
