Part 5 - Impact Generations One of the things I love most about leadership is the thought that the choices and sacrifices I make throughout my life can benefit the generations that come after me. Whenever I lack motivation in my leadership or I wrestle with insecurities, or when I get fearful of putting myself ‘out there’ too much, I take a moment with Jesus to remember that the life I’m living isn’t about me. My dream is to leave the best possible legacy for the generations that come after me, so that they don’t have to fight the same battles I’ve fought and so that my ceiling in God will be their floor: I want to see believers understanding who God is as their Father and who He says they are as sons and daughters, so that they can naturally see God’s Kingdom come with power through them. I want to see churches full of faith and expectation that healing, deliverance and salvation would be a normal part of meetings and people’s everyday lives. And I long to see God’s presence pursued and prioritised above man-made structures and plans. I want to see churches functioning as families where fathers AND mothers are free to be fully themselves and bring their unique gifts and ways of seeing the world. I long to see women functioning freely and with authority in leadership so that the church experiences the fullness of all God intended for her. I could say so much more about what I long to see. The privilege I have as a leader - and the privilege all of us have - is that we get to lay our lives down in surrender to Jesus in order to leave a legacy for the generations who come after us. When we lead like this, we look like Jesus.
