Yet another animated elevator based off of something in a Mario game! Except instead of incorporating elevators into the place completely off the top of my own head (like I did with Coconut Mall), I took an actual elevator appearance in the place, recreated what I knew, and went from there. In this case, the elevator in question is situated at the Poshley Heights Hotel in the game “Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door”. Anyway, I just thought of the elevator as looking a bit like a 1930’s Waygood-OTIS or something like that. It was modernised in the late-60’s by OTIS with newer black buttons and a new traction motor to replace the previous winding drum one (which made the lift unbearably slow for the number of floors). Unfortunately, when I came to film it fairly recently, the interior has sadly been killed with Dewhurst buttons and a generic indicator. No idea who did it as I don’t really know who handles what in this town… Also, I believe the logic has been replaced as well… Luckily, everything else is still original, including that awesome-but-slightly-weird-sounding door motor! And at least it’s gold Dewhurst, which is slightly more tolerable and fits the poshness of the building pretty well (I mean, it isn’t called POSH-ley Heights Hotel for no reason lol). Still, would’ve loved to see it more original… Special thanks to the receptionist for allowing me to film this beauty! What do you guys think of this lift? Did I recreate it well?
