While the week starts toasty warm and humid, our next cold front is on the way with some relief and also a risk of thunderstorms in our region. We'll start very mild today, humid and breezy with another round of sprinkles, mist or patchy light rain. This will be enough to create morning wet streets, some puddles. By the afternoon, skies turn partly sunny with temperatures spiking up into the upper 80s to even around 90 in a few spots. Track the rain with our interactive radar: https://news4sanantonio.com/weather/r... By this evening, we'll see the cold front slowly push into the area arriving out west after sunset then pushing into the San Antonio area between 10pm - 1am. While we could see a few showers or even an isolated thunderstorm develop before the front arrives, the main zone of rain with thunder will develop as the front punches in. There will be enough instability in the atmosphere to power storm updrafts and just enough wind shear to go along with the instability to strengthen a few storms. A level 1 out of 5 "marginal" severe storm outlook does overlap into our region and could expand in the next update to include a few more counties in our area. The main hazards will be strong gusts and hail in strong to severe storms. In terms of rainfall, a general .50" - 1.50"+ rainfall is possible where the line of rain and storms develops then moves east. Areas to the west of this zone will see much less unfortunately. Temperatures will drop nicely behind the front but the air behind this cold front is Pacific cool air and not polar. This will simply knock temperatures closer to average in the mid 70s with a nice drop in humidity levels for a couple days before our next rain chance late week with increased humidity arrives. After isolated showers and storms move off to the east Tuesday morning, fair weather prevails through Wednesday. Chances of showers and isolated thunderstorms develop for Thursday through Friday, then fair weather returns for the weekend. Temperatures remain above average. _______________ Stay up to date with our social media: WOAI on Instagram: / news4sa WOAI on Facebook: / news4sa WOAI on Twitter: / news4sa Subscribe to WOAI on YouTube: / @woaivideo Daily News Playlist: • WOAI 4 San Antonio Daily News Digest For more information, visit https://news4sanantonio.com/ Have a news tip?
