On March 7, 1965, law enforcement officers attacked a group of 600 unarmed civil rights protesters in Selma, Alabama. Images of state troopers using tear gas and batons against marchers on "Bloody Sunday" shocked the world. Days later, “Face the Nation” asked Alabama Gov. George Wallace about the use of force. This archival episode may contain themes or use language that differs from modern interpretations. "Face the Nation" is America's premier Sunday morning public affairs program.
