Police followed Steven Beeson, 40 after vehicle checks revealed his Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck and Elddis caravan had fake number plates. When they approached him at around 4.40am on June 22 last year, Beeson, of Walsall, West Midlands, failed to stop for officers and zoomed off at high speed. He managed to get to 70mph despite towing the 20ft-long caravan behind him. Beeson was caught on dashcam footage that showed him careering around a roundabout on the A34 towards Trentham, Staffordshire, before travelling onto the M6 motorway. The shocking clip shows Beeson missing a lorry by just inches as he sped down a slip road at Junction 15.
