#Duong #Dong is the capital of #Phu #Quoc island in #Vietnam. Duong Dong is a town with the low-rise houses, hotels, banks and a night market. The town needs a serious reconstruction, and the hard work of communal services! A beach in the town is very dirty, with a large number of stray dogs. We were very surprised by the fashionable hotel in the center of Duong Dong, whose guests rested on a #dirty #beach! Phu Quoc has its own small international airport, so the best way to go to Duong Dong will be an air travel. The airport is located a few kilometers from Duong Dong town. The #night #market in Duong Dong (Phu Quoc) is the concentration of the evening life of the island. Here you can eat in restaurants or street food, buy authentic souvenirs and Chinese fakes, alcoholic drinks, pearls and jewelry from it, and dozens of other ways to spend time. Starting from 4 - 5 pm merchants begin to spread goods, and restaurants and cafes open their doors and prepare to receive guests. But it makes sense to go to the Night Market after sunset, when everything is already working. The market is small, only a few streets 300 - 400 meters long along the river, but very colorful. It is located in the historic city center, close to the post office and the pier, where the Dinh Cau rock is located. You can also visit the Khao Dai Temple, and see the lot of fishing boats, which can be seen from the bridge. Cau Temple, which has the status of a religious building and is located on the west coast of Phu Quoc Island, was built in 1937 in honor of the sea goddess and patroness of these places - Thien Hau. For a long time, local fishermen and seafarers have always prayed to her before sailing, believing that she will protect them from the vagaries of nature and will help to a safe return home. Every year, the temple hosts a major festival dedicated to Thien Hau. It traditionally gathers many people and during the celebration becomes the main object of the island of Phu Quoc. The temple is located on massive stone boulders, around which waves of the sea crash with a noise, which gives the building a special surroundings. #Cau #Temple is a small size, but it is clearly distinguishable from different points of the coast. It is decorated in a classic oriental style and looks very attractive against the background of green palm trees growing nearby. Miniature balconies, which offer breathtaking views of the endless expanse of the waters of the Gulf of Siam, are a wonderful addition to the appearance of the building. On the other hand, you can admire the estuary of the Duong Dong River, with fishing boats scurrying along it. On both sides of the temple extends a wide coastline of yellowish sand, dotted with slippery stones from the water. The palace is extremely photogenic and the tourists coming here, as usual, make photos against its background. As in any Buddhist temple in Vietnam, traditions must be observed in the Cau Temple. You need to take off your shoes at the entrance, and the dress code should not remind you that the island is a famous beach resort. Inside are Buddha statues and an altar. The locals put candles here and light incense. If you wish, you can donate money for the maintenance of the temple. A trip to Cau Temple is an excellent opportunity to vary the beach activities, to enjoy the surrounding landscapes and to get a lot of positive impressions from traveling around the island.
