Lyric Video for "Go On" | Melanie Mozer - Original Song

"Go On' is an original song I wrote for my final project of my Understanding the Bible class I took my first semester at Belmont University. This song was inspired by the event in John 8:1-11. The Pharisees, religious leaders of the New Testament, were about to stone a woman they caught in adultery. They attempted to test Jesus to see if He would break Mosaic Law, which would give the Pharisees an excuse to arrest Him. However, Jesus points out that the only people that can stone this one are ones that have never broken a law, or sinned in any way. He invites them to carry on with their actions if it is true they are blameless. After the Pharisees get that reality check, they walk away, leaving Jesus, the only righteous one, with the woman caught in adultery. He had every right to stone the woman, but He chose to give her grace and forgiveness. When she didn't feel like she could go on, He met her where she was at and led her to His mercy. Too often Christians are known for their judgment, rather than their love. However, all have fallen short of the Glory of God. Sometimes we don't realize the stones we are holding against others, or even the ones we release. Remember words can hit just as heavy. By offering the perspective of the woman caught in adultery, I seek to stir a conviction to love others more deeply and fully. This is what God calls us to do: to be DEVOTED to love others and SERVE them with an abundance of grace. Thank you so much, Melanie Mozer (Age 20)
