Join Empower! Black Futures Community Fund advisory committee members Raashan Ahmad, Hakim Bellamy, and Shani Mikaela for a candid conversation on grantmaking, resourcing Black-led work, and building thriving Black communities across New Mexico. In this discussion, we explore: • How grantmaking can better serve Black artists, entrepreneurs, and community leaders • The realities of funding Black futures in New Mexico • Arts, culture, and financial literacy as tools for collective growth • What the statewide fund is really looking for and why projects still in progress, still belong at the table Thank you all for joining us for this conversation on Black life, arts, culture, and financial literacy in New Mexico. We hope you’ll take the chance, even with a potential idea, to apply for the Santa Fe Community Foundation Spring Grant Cycle, open February 9 – March 15, 2026. We are better together.
