You wont believe what Lurch's Custom Fabrication Can Do to a Holden Ute. Yes, if your are in the Custom Car Building scene then you need to know Lurch's Custom Fabrication today. Get ready for a great fun interview. In this weeks episode we catch up with Lurch of Lurch's Custom Fabrications. There was also a peanut gallery consisting of Happy and Olly. this led to banter and a good laugh. As a result we have left in some bloopers on this one to show the fun of some healthy workshop banter. Lurch started out as a turner and fitter and transitioned to custom fabrication bringing all his skills across and diving right in. You can tell he puts a lot of thought and skill into his work. And the results are fantastic. Lurch has worked on Happy's award winning one tonner, Jeromy's amazing LX Torana from last weeks episode and many other custom builds over the years. The one thing you notice is his shop is not only tidy but its clean. A great environment to get into his work and welcoming to walk into. When Lurch isn't working on customers cars he is working on his HZ Holden well body Ute. His idea is to make a Pro Tourer style HZ. His Ute is the R and D vehicle and has had many mods but there is always more to come. So far he has fitted a 400 Chevy Engine Turbo 400 and 9 inch diff. Its a naturally aspirated engine and it previously had nitrous hooked up. But as fabricators and mad scientist's do there is always something new to try. So the first thing you notice when you open the bonnet is the side mount supercharger. at the moment its a work in progress and Lurch is still working on the piping and intercooler system. Lurch has also made his own upper control arms in the pursuit of better handling. He says its better but there is still work to be done. he also wants to make his own lower control arms. The interior is built for the race feel of the car. It's got ally door trims, seats upgrade, custom auto meter dash and harnesses. Under the custom tauon lid is the fuel system. a custom made fuel cell and the battery is also in this aria. Compared to the rest of the car the inside of the tray is in original beaten up condition but when Lurch has finalised everything else it will get a tidy up. The mods on this car are to many to mention in this description. All and all Lurch's work is impressive and he puts a lot of thought behind things so they are still practical but look fantastic and work properly. Thanks for watching.
