IHHP - South Hedland - 'Be at Your Best'

In October 2015, Wirraka Maya Health Service - Transition to Adulthood program, engaged Indigenous Hip Hop Project team to visit Hedland and together with the great support from the South Hedland Primary School and the town of Port Hedland's JD Hardie Youth Zone, we produced an awesome video clip on the positive values of Hedland; to promote the message "Be At Your Best" Participating youth gained skills in dance, performance and song writing with the personal growth of building confidence, team work, and developing a greater sense of identity, pride and community spirit that encourages them to 'Be at their best; to make positive choices and positive attitudes. The Wirraka Maya 'Be At Your Best' message is for anyone and everyone; to take care of themselves and those around them; to always think about their health and wellbeing; encouraging them and others to show respect and to take leadership throughout their community.
