Dr. Oludare Odumosu,Chief Scientific Officer/EVP Pharmaceutical Division for Pennsylvania-based Ilera Healthcare, is this week’s guest on the Green Rush! Dr. Odumosu has an extensive scientific and medical background with a PhD. in biochemistry as well as having shepherded the development of pharmaceuticals through FDA approval and the marketing that occurs afterwards. A native of Nigeria, it’s worth mentioning that Dr. Odumosu is one of a growing number of African-Americans who are taking on leadership roles to shape the cannabis industry. In this week’s conversation, our hosts and Oludare touch on a number of fascinating subjects including social justice reform; Dr. Odumosu’s introduction to cannabis and why he credits the plant with saving his life; what drove him to make the jump from the world of academia to cannabis; how Dr. Odumosu’s past work developing pain meds has informed his work with cannabis; and what kind of study he would commission on cannabis if he worked at the FDA. Enjoy!    Dr. Oludare Odumosu Bio Dr. Odumosu brings 10 years of experience in corporate pharmaceutical business development, operations and strategic alliance management to his role as Ilera Healthcare’s Chief Scientific Officer/EVP Pharmaceutical Division. His background in biochemistry and healthcare entrepreneurship gives him unique qualifications for this role. Dr. Odumosu played a critical role in Iroko Pharmaceutical’s post-clinical development of Zorvolex Tivorbex and Vivlodex through FDA approvals and successful US market commercialization. He also managed the execution of the business development gate processes for the expansion of Iroko’s Solumatrix franchise products through ex-US licensing agreement negotiations. He received a PhD in Biochemistry and a Master’s in Public Health-Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine and School of Public Health in Loma Linda, California; and a BS in Biology from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Odumosu is a World Bank Institute Certified public health professional with global healthcare translational/clinical/epidemiological research and data management experience.
