What has been a noble vision to empower former disadvantaged communities has been hollowed out by criminals, leading small business owners destitute and vulnerable. Tenders have led to a spectre of endemic corruption that has collapsed government departments, parastatals and municipalities, leading to loss of billions, as the elite feed like pigs. If nothing drastic is not done urgently to arrest this situation, tenders accompanied by rampant corruption led by rapacious sharks will ultimately bring the demise of South Africa.
