This session included the NAFEX Annual Meeting, followed by a talk by Jorge Zaldivar of Guavonia Guava Grove in Florida, USA. Jorge discusses key events and notable persons involved in introducing Mangifera indica, the "king of fruits," into the continental United States. Florida has a rich history with many cultivars of this colorful fruit because of its proximity to the Caribbean, and the countless cultivars being propagated and enjoyed from around the world. To skip directly to Jorge's presentation, forward to time stamp 0:24:15. The NAFEX Annual Meeting is an informal gathering of members of the North American Fruit Explorers, a non-profit organization that has united non-commercial fruit growers in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Each year, our president recaps accomplishments in the last year, outlines plans for the coming year, reviews the organization's financials and conducts board of director elections, as needed.
