With a wide range of dive torches on the market, it can be tricky to know which torch is best for your needs and the conditions you'll be diving in. In this video, Chris from ADRENO Melbourne goes through a range of different types of underwater torches, allowing you to decide what's best for you. A really popular level of dive torch is those at 450 lumens. These torches are relatively inexpensive and are perfect for diving in clear water, like the tropics. If you waters aren't as clear as the tropics, you'll want to consider a 1200 lumen dive torch. Perfect for night diving, they come in wide ranges, including wide modes, narrow modes perfect for night diving) and an extra wide mode (video light). In dirty water, you'll need a narrow light that can penetrate effectively through the water. If you're scuba diving, you'll require three different types of light sources: 1. A primary light 2. A backup light 3. A light or glowstick on the back of your tank A final option is a 3500 lumen video light. The strong benefit of these dive torches is that you can change between wide and concentrated modes. This results in a light suitable for pretty much all diving uses.
