On May 23, 2022 in Florida, officers were called to Walmart in reference to a theft in progress. Upon arrival, officers met with Walmart's loss prevention officer who stated that he witnessed a woman failing to scan items and then passing all points of sale before being stopped for a receipt check. The woman claimed that she had paid for some items at checkout and some items on Walmart's "Scan & Go" app, however, the total didn't match what she had in her cart.
