Today, September 20, is the birthday of Juliana Maria Farmer. She died at 45 in the 2023 Old National Bank attack in Louisville after relocating to the city to be near family and help with her grandchildren. Working as a loan analyst for Old National Bank, she had been on the job for just 2 weeks. Respectful, responsible and beautiful with a melodious and infectious laugh, Juliana was thrilled with her career and felt like she had finally made it to the next level. Juliana entered adulthood as a teen mom who worked hard and fought for a better life for her children for over two decades. She was taken from her mom, 3 children, 4 grandchildren & one on the way, 4 sisters and a large extended family. A lover of travel, church, and people, she cherished time with friends and family, and had a wonderful personality that drew others to her. Her aunt called her, “a ray of sunshine, a joy to be around…just a good person.” The shooter had a history of mental instability, depression, and a suicide attempt. His social media posts, text messages, and notes revealed dark plans. He bought the gun just 6 days before the attack and detailed how quickly and easily he was able to buy an AR15 despite his history and despite lying on his paperwork.
