EGYPT || Ahly's Ultras protest barring spectator attendance by black flags and firecrackers

Hardcore supporters of the Cairo-based Al-Ahly club scuffled with policemen on Saturday as they insisted on carrying firecrackers into stands during the FIBA African Club Championship final between Ahly and Angolan Libolo. The young fans forcibly stormed the main entrance of the basketball hall and smashed detector gates. After a ten-minute scuffle, they're succeeded in getting into at the end. Few minutes ahead of the game, another chapter of the story begins when ultras fans hoisted red, yellow and green flags depicting the logo of the Championship and suddenly all colors have been replaced with black. It was a clear message sent by fans to express their deep anger of being barred from attending soccer games at the stadium. Egyptian authorities barred any spectator attendance at soccer stadiums since Port Said massacre which left at least 74 killed. Egypt's Minister of Youth and Sports Khaled Abdel Aziz exerts great efforts with Ministery of Interiors to allow fans to return into stands. In 2014, Abdel Aziz managed to reach an agreement with Interior Ministry to allowing a limited number of fans in Egypt's major stadiums. The deal allows 10,000 to attend matches held at the Cairo Stadium, Air Force Defence Stadium, Arab Contractors Stadium and the Borg El-Arab Stadium.
