Vintage Power Plant Promo - "Contract with Kenny"
A promotional video for the Philadelphia Electric Company in 1961 about their newly constructed flagship coal burning power plant, Eddystone station. The sounds you hear at the end of the video as the plant starts up, as well as the speed of the rotating synchroscope are a bit embellished for the sake of drama to get investors hyped. The exterior shot of the plant at 6:35 is actually the now-demolished Barbadoes Station of Norristown PA. We found this forgotten footage while making our documentary film about the abanadoned PECo stations in Philadelphia.
