Our dear friend and brother, Scott Frantz, passed to the next realm on Wednesday, Jan 30, 2013, after having a massive heart attack while loading his truck at work. I have known "Frantzy" since childhood and have played live music with him most of my life. He has always been an inspiration, both musically and personally. We are both 46 years old, and this is a major shock to our world, including his loving family and huge circle of friends and musicians. Frantz was an example of "how to be" in every situation he came upon. He exemplified a Christ-like love that shined like a Fresnel Lens. In 2002, after years of playing classic rock, country, and oldies in various bands together, he came to me with an idea to form a band that presented the Christian message through both original and covered songs. Freznel Lenz was formed with a mission to "magnify the Light." As the Spirit worked through the bandmates, Frantzy would occasionally come to the studio with completed originals that he would write in just minutes, when inspiration came. This is one of those "simple" compostions that he brought to the band early on in our history, circa 2003, but only later found its way onto a recording, (our third CD, entitled "Love One Another,") in 2011. Such a powerful song, with a timeless message, quickly became one of the band favorites to play once we upped the tempo a bit and changed the style slightly. It's a country-rock type of song, and effectively captures the passion of Frantzy's heart in his vocals and guitar playing.
