VRT9 Traditional, manual thread gaging requires a significant reliance on operator effort and judgement. New Vista's Handheld RT thread Unit is designed to quickly and safely simulate hand gaging. A sensitive clutch permits "GO" gages to run to depth at high speed. Full torque is applied in reverse so the gage never jams in the hole. Generally, the RT provides a 70% cycle time improvement over gaging by hand. Built for high-mix production, the RT is supplied with adapters for off-the-shelf taperlock thread gages. Run new gage sizes by simply replacing the gage in the adapter or ordering additional low-cost adapters. Depth is also easily adjusted for new thread features. Set a new gage in the adapter with a press or hammer. Remove a gage from the adapter in the same way. Used for gaging of #4 - 2 3/8" threads (M3 - M60), the RT is well suited to improve any thread gaging process.
