#SKHPP #CPECmakingProgress #Balakot The Suki Kinari project in KPK is one of the largest projects falling under the portfolio of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), also being the largest private sector project in Pakistan. China Gezhouba Group Company (CGGC) started working on it in 2017, and will be completed by 2024. The project is part of the Early Harvest projects of CPEC and is expected to add a sizable 884MW to the power sector of Pakistan. The estimated cost of the project is USD 1.9 billion, expected to generate a massive power of 3.081 billion MW. It is also estimated that the project will serve as an employment gateway for more than 3000 people. About 6,000 local workers are engaged during the peak period of construction. It is a diversion-type run-off-river Project that poses minimal environmental and social impacts due to its high head of and relatively short Intake Structure & reservoir. The dam site of the Project is located about 10 kilometers upstream of Kaghan town. The water-retaining structure is an asphalt concrete core rock fill dam with a maximum height of 54.5m & a total crest length of the dam is 336m. In this 3rd episode of underground powerhouse, you can witness the construction progress, especially electromechanical works because the project has reached major milestone with the installation of Pakistan’s biggest Pelton Turbines. Let’s witness the updated episode of Suki Kinari Powerhouse. The structural works had also been completed in Powerhouse and Transformer Halls and electro-mechanical installation is in progress. A major milestones have been achieved. During pandemic and extreme weather, the project activities were affected. However, the Contractor has so far deftly managed the situation and continued the construction works at site which is commendable. The project expected completion date is November 2024. Let’s hope the project complete successfully and contribute positively to manage the country's energy shortage. ________________________________________ If you found this video helpful, leave us a comment and don't forget to give us a thumbs up! 👍 ________________________________________ INSTAGRAM: @HydropowerPK / hydropowerpk FACEBOOK: / hydropowerpk YOUTUBE: / cheapenergy TWITTER: / hydropowerpk FACEBOOK GROUP: / 474156706292162
