This is a quick and random video I made, apologies for the very poor video quality. This is not a how to do video, more like a quick, rushed explanation where I have a mumble. This is a job I wanted to get done quickly and wasn’t sure if it was going to work, hence filming Halfway through the Swap. This turbo was making some loud wizzing noises, as well as not pulling like it should be, most likely due to the worn bearings and damaged fins on the exhaust side. Volkswagen would of quoted around £1000 to pull the whole unit and replace it. If you have basic tools like spanners and a socket set you should be able to swap your turbo core too! And save yourself a bunch of money! Swap the turbo core yourself, they can be purchased for 100-£200.
