Ilmavoimien virallinen taitolento-osasto Midnight Hawks esiintyi kesällä 2024 koti- ja ulkomaisissa tapahtumissa. Yksi Midnight Hawks -esityksistä nähtiin 15. kesäkuuta Kauhavalla Lakia-Jukola-suunnistustapahtuman yhteydessä – katso videolta, miltä lento näytti Hawk-ohjaamosta katsottuna! Videolla kuuluu myös osaston jäsenten välistä radioliikennettä. Video on kuvattu Midnight Hawksin kauden 2024 numero 4 kapteeni Petteri Wahlgrenin ohjaamasta koneesta. Ilmavoimien virallinen taitolento-osasto Midnight Hawks on esitellyt Ilmavoimien lentotoiminnan huippuosaamista vuodesta 1997 lähtien. Kaikki osastoon kuuluvat ohjaajat työskentelevät ilmataistelulennonopettajina Ilmasotakoululla, jossa osastolentoharjoittelu tapahtuu päätoimen ohella. Osastossa lentäminen vaatii sitoutumista ja kovaa harjoittelua. Osastoon kuuluminen on kunniatehtävä. Kaudella 2024 Midnight Hawksin lentävään kokoonpanoon kuuluvat osaston johtaja kapteeni Juho Tervahartiala (Nro 1), siipimiehinä lentävät numerolla 2 kapteeni Ville Kirijatshenko ja kapteeni Joonas Sunnari numerolla 3 sekä jonopaikkaa lentävä kapteeni Petteri Wahlgren numerolla 4. Selostajina / rookieina toimivat kapteeni Lauri Lappalainen ja yliluutnantti Arttu Majuri. Osaston valvojana on kapteeni Oskari Tähtinen. One of the Midnight Hawks' performances took place on June 15th in Kauhava, during the Lakia-Jukola orienteering event. The video was recorded from the cockpit of the aircraft piloted by Captain Petteri Wahlgren, Midnight Hawks No. 4. The Midnight Hawks is the official aerobatic team of the Finnish Air Force. Flying four Hawk jet trainers, the team has proudly presented the expertise and capabilities of the Finnish Air Force in air shows both at home and abroad since 1997. All Midnight Hawks pilots are qualified air combat and Hawk flight instructors at the Air Force Academy, rehearsing aerobatics on top of their teaching responsibilities. Formation aerobatics require gruelling training and commitment. Belonging to the team is an honour. The Midnight Hawks crew in season 2024: Captain Juho Tervahartiala (No. 1 Team Leader), Captain Ville Kirijatshenko (No. 2 Left Wing), Captain Joonas Sunnari (No. 3 Right Wing) and Captain Petteri Wahlgren (No. 4 Slot Position). Captain Oskari Tähtinen supervises the team. In the 2024 season, there are two ‘sevens’, or rookies: Captain Lauri Lappalainen and First Lieutenant Arttu Majuri.
