Once a direct encounter with a raccoon in the laboratory led PHD Wang to value the problem of urban wild animals. The land we live on used to belong to all sorts of wild animals, but as urbanization increasingly encroaches on nature, some wild animals are extirpated while others remain. The remnants adapt to human society and learn to survive in the city. The raccoon dogs of Shanghai are such an example. 2020, a pandemic this year led us to discuss the wild animals and how we cohabit with them.
