The past few years have been VERY hard on blueberries in the Pacific Northwest. Drought, heat waves, forest fires, intense sunshine, and rising water costs have all impacted our blueberries. The consequences are heat stress, sunburn, branch dieback, and losing whole crops of berries and whole plants. I am actively assessing and rethinking some of my berry strategies this year as we face the realities of a warming climate.
