One of the most explosive and active volcanoes on the planet is located within southern Iceland, and last erupted in 2000. Known as Hekla, this volcano's average eruption is a massive VEI 4. In other words, whenever this volcano erupts, there is a good chance that it will cause significant disruption to air traffic and heavy ashfall. This video will discuss this highly explosive volcano which only began forming 7,000 years ago. If you would like to support this channel, consider becoming a patron at / geologyhub .
