Why It’s a Hassle to Live in Kyoto

Kyoto is a city in Japan that has been the capital for more than 1,000 years. When you imagine a city of history and traditional culture, I believe it would be Kyoto. Although Kyoto IS a beautiful city and I do recommend you coming to visit, as a resident there are many “annoying” local rules that you must follow in order to blend in. Because Kyoto has such a long history as the capital of Japan, the tradition of not standing out and not stating your opinions directly, still continues today. There may be few rules that will make you think, "Wow, that is just too much". So today, as a man born in Kyoto, and a current business owner in Kyoto, I will introduce “5 annoying local rules of Kyoto”. The rules I introduce will get more and more overwhelming towards the end! This video is especially recommended to those who are willing to work or study in Japan. [Time codes] 0:00 Let's START! 1:45 1. The true meaning of “ōkini” 3:14 2.
