"The pro-pot-legalization coalition, Just Say Now told the Huffington Post, that Google has accepted marijuana-legalization ads on the search engine site--ones that were rejected by Facebook. Google also accepted ads attacking Facebook for blocking the campaign's web ads. Bruce Fein, a coalition member and former associate attorney general for President Reagan said, ""Facebook's concocted prissiness over political advocacy is more to be disparaged than imitated. Freedom of expression is made of sterner stuff. Google deserves applause for exposing Facebook to shame."" A Facebook spokesman said that the Just Say Now ads were banned - after initially being accepted - because they depicted a pot leaf, which is banned under a general smoking ban. Apparently, no such ban is outlined in the advertising guidelines. Ads are mostly straightforward with one reading: ""Proposition 19: Join the campaign to legalize marijuana in California."""
