One of the most exciting and helpful aspects of the Alumni Portal is the Jobs Board and Tor Program, where you can find the latest job opportunities and support from other Alumni for your work! Watch this video to learn how. Join at https://connect.youngpeoplefor.org/re... **To enable closed captioning, please click on the CC button at the bottom of the screen. Under the 'Careers' tab, see the jobs board and search for Tors. The jobs board allows you to search for opportunities. You can filter your search based on keywords, employers, salary, and more. You can also select the category of job you are looking for, like Temporary, Full time, or Internship. Click on the image or title of a specific job to learn more. Each job listing contains a job description and can include other important information, like location, salary, benefits, and more. If you are interested in applying for that role, you can go ahead and click the blue 'Apply with Link' button to be directed to the website where the job opportunity was posted. Alumni can also post opportunities directly to the job board. [Click ‘Post an Opportunity’] Be sure to include all the necessary information, including the job description and image. You can choose to share a job anonymously or linked to your profile for other Alumni to see. In addition to the jobs board, the Careers tab also allows you to access YP4’s new Tor program. It is important to note that this is a new Tor program that functions differently from YP4’s Tor program that is tied to the Fellowship. The new Tor Program allows you to search for and connect with Alumni who have opted-in to the program to provide their support and guidance. You can search for Tors based on industry, job title, employer, education institution, functions, country, and keywords. You can also look for a Tor, based on the specific mentor categories that are available, such as, Industry/Sector-specific help, Issue area expertise, and 1 on 1 Tor relationship. Once you have filtered your search, click on the red 'Search Tors' button, to see what members in the network are Tors and match your search. Message any Alumni you are interested in connecting with. [Click on 'Message' button] To send a Tor request, first, select the category you want help [click on 'How Can Tor Help'] Then, include a subject line and your message to send to that Alumni, and submit your request [Click 'Send' button] You’ll receive an email when your request has been answered by that Alumni. If you are interested in signing up as a Tor, you can do so by going to your settings tab. [Scroll up to the top, Click on 'My settings'] [Scroll down to mentoring, click 'Edit' button] Check the boxes that correspond to how you can offer your help as a Tor. You can then decide how many Tor support requests you are willing to accept at any one time or you can leave this box empty if you don’t want to set a limit. Click ‘Save’ to update your status. We hope you all take time to go through the jobs board, post an opportunity you know of, and volunteer and/or sign up for YP4’s new Tor program!
