Overall impression, the Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua is a great cigar that Montecristo tends to be overlooked. Specifications: Size: #2 Torpedo 6-1/8 inches x 52 gauge Origin: Nicaragua Puro Source: Box purchase Since I did a box opening of this cigar in June, I've had a chance to smoke 7 or 8 of these already. I figured I better do a review before they are all gone! This is a joint Montecristo (Rafael Nodal) and A.J. Fernandez blend, but all of the tobacco comes from A.J. farms and it is made at his San Lotano factory in Nicaragua. Having a pretty large sample size to assess this cigar, in my opinion the Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua is one of a handful of cigars that I would describe as perfect - right up there with the Padron 1926. That is a bold statement, I understand, particularly for a U.S. market Montecristo. Draw, burn , construction, appearance, flavor, balance...every aspect of this cigar is excellent. Price is an issue, unfortunately list price is up there with a Padron 1926 but the difference is that there are price promotions where you can get it for a little under US$10 a stick (box quantity of 10) if you keep your eyes open.
